OSIEPE Practical Action held its 2017 1st quarterly meeting on 29th May at Oseng'teti primary school. This is a regular business meeting to review progress and make resolutions to implementing in the next period. The chairman's report was read at the meeting. As part of the on-going learning, the Group’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team compiled and presented their report on various pillars and aspects (indicators) to members. The overall finding is that OSIEPE Practical Action ® is now performance on its mandate as stipulated in its vision and mission. Increasingly opportunities and resources are getting accorded to members to share the ideas and resources for self, household, group and community transformation. The financial stability and member involvement in activities is most encouraging. The report covers successes, challenges and lessons under specific core activities. The OEEP SOLUTIONS (Microfinance) remains a central element of the group’s developments. Members continue to take loans which are increasingly channelled into productive enterprises. A benchmarking baseline survey will soon be done to effectively change changes among members. The member monthly shares remain the cornerstone of capital for the microfinance facility. Over the past 4 months the trends in monthly contributions by the four nuclei remain on course to meeting the annual target. The MEAL report shows steady stability in governance which continue to be strengthened through leadership skills, visionary thinking and management for performance. The group is also leveraging internal and outside technical capacity and experience to bolster governance structures.
Satisfaction was registered with facilities like family support program (which continues to attract more member savings), BBF and NHIF. Other aspects reported on include management of meetings. Specific focus was aid to partnerships which continue grow steadily with tangible activities. The collaboration with ILRI-AVCD project was a clear success with the fixed time AI in the sub-County covering many animals, fodder establishment and plans for an agrovet and milk coolant on course with more partners coming on board. |
