KISUMU COUNTY HELD AT MUHORONI STADIUM
Muhoroni 9th August 2019: Kisumu County, on this day, marked the International youth week ahead of the International Youth Day (IYD) which is observed annually on August 12th of every year. In a busy and event packed day at Muhoroni stadium, OSIEPE yes! yet again demonstrated their unique approach to mitigation on youth issues.
This year’s theme highlights efforts to make education more inclusive and accessible for all youth, embracing efforts by youth themselves. Rooted in Goal 4 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” – International Youth Day 2019 examines how Governments, young people and youth-led/youth-focused organizations, as well as other stakeholders, are transforming education so that it becomes a powerful tool to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The main messages of the day focused around;
OSIEPE yes! Occupied a unique frontier as the only youth based organization that addressed the challenging and elusive subject of the Youth Empowerment through Agriculture by engaging the youth in smart innovative Dairy, Fodder and Poultry value chains as well as giving insight to affordable and sustainable ways of addressing youth challenges particularly the girl child and unemployment .
Through well organized and coordinated presentations by a Team of OSIEPE yes! Members, they highlighted opportunities that could be tapped by the youths in the line of Dairy, Poultry, Fodder and Horticulture Value Chains.

- Blue Cross Kisumu; Fighting Drugs and Drug Abuse among the youth
- NIGEE – Nyanza Initiative for Girls Education and Empowerment
- East Africa Institute of Certified Studies; offering professional courses to the youth

- BEYOND ZERO Initiative – Inspiring Action, Changing Lives Mobile Clinic

In line with the 2019 International Youth Day (IYD) theme “Transforming Education” OSIEPE yes! Demonstrated how knowledge and skills acquired in school can be used for innovation and revitalization of youth relevance in enhancing food security and sustainable livelihood.
