The open days will be held on 11th and 12 April, 2018 at Muhoroni chilling plant site and Oseng’teti satellite office respectively. There will also be a series of cross-county wide roadshows to mobilize farmers and others for the events and also engage residents on opportunities in the new found dairy transformation agenda. At the event, OSIEPE has invited many exhibitors and investors including NGOs and other civil society organizations, The Cooperative Bank, KCB and other financing institutions, Service providers including AI practitioners, local and international research organizations, Agro-dealers, milk processors, commercial fodder investors, small scale farmers and farmer organizations/cooperatives, large scale dairy and fodder farmers, county government and milk marketers. The partnership between OSIEPE, Heifer International, ILRI-AVCD and Kisumu County Government is coordinating the open days.
On the menu will be display and demonstration of OSIEPE CBO model and services it offers to members and non-members including the planned services under the dairy hub to suppliers and buyers of milk and milk products, new innovations in community development by OSIEPE and partners, fodder commercialization technologies, County government agriculture and food security transformation strategy, Kisumu County dairy breeding blueprint, technologies for smart dairy and fodder development, dairy readiness and clean milk production, milk marketing opportunities and how OSIEPE chilling plant will ensure steady supply of milk and sustainable markets. Ahead of the events, OSIEPE and partners have lined up communication pieces through print media, FM stations, social media and internet, as well as messaging at local forums, churches and schools.
