The chilling plant under construction in Muhoroni Town will be operated as a dairy hub with comprehensive services to actors in the dairy value chain. On top of aggregating, chilling and selling milk the hub will offer many other services including farmer training, market development, AI and other input services, transportation and aggregation, mobile payment of school fees, household needs, farm mechanisation services, access to fodder and other feeds, credit facilities, animal health services, and others.

OSIEPE has developed a comprehensive business plan for the dairy hub and is working closely with the County Government, development partners, civil society (especially Heifer International) to implement the mobilisation, milk mopping and market development plan. A variety of communication channels are under use - social media, local FM stations, print media, TV, field days/open days, messaging to local churches and schools, farmer/household visits and techncial support.
