We are a registered Community Based Organisation operating in Muhoroni sub-County. We draw our membership from the county and beyond.
OSIEPE PRACTICAL ACTION ® is a community based organisation located in Kisumu County, Muhoroni Sub-County, Chemelil Ward. OSIEPE operates in Oseng’ teti but has interests and activities through enterprises and community support programs within and outside the sub-County. The CBO draws its 75-plus membership from within and beyond Kisumu County of Kenya. The organisation operates several products aimed at achieving the five pillars targeting the members, the public, and the global community. OSIEPE seeks to partner with like-minded organisations to deliver the products and services and facilitate going to scale with its unique model and lessons. 
OSIEPE CBO begun as a small self help group in the 1990's to address school fees need of bright children from poor families. A group of friends (osiepe) came together and on an annual basis fund raised for this course. Over the years the group reorganised to undertake other socio-economic activities around empowerment. ​In 2012, the group was officially registered as a CBO and has since grown through leaps and bounds.
The journey has been long but fruitful. The organisation development processes has been supported by self reflection, leadership capacity strengthening, internal control systems and policy development and design and operationalisation of key statutory documents like constitution, business plan, M&E and Learning system, risk management system, marketing plan, communication plan among others

Our Approach
Collective Action for Transformation. Practical action defines our approach which entrenches local stewardship for investment for development through collective action, strategic partnership, sound technical and professional guidance and learning for permanent change.
